A 3G Primer

3G represents the next wave of technology for the majority of wireless carriers. But the implementation of 3G and the migration from 2G to 2 ½ to 3G can be incredibly confusing and fraught with risks to revenue.
 
As with any new technology, the roadmap for the migration to 3G is far from simple or straightforward, and network implementation teams are usually more concerned with making sure that the network is working first, and allow issues regarding the integrity, auditability and dependability of billing operations for somebody else at some later time.
 
The telcos risk to revenue DURING MIGRATION TO 3G is incredibly large, and most revenue assurance teams are only invited to participate AFTER it is too late to impact the implementation.

This month, we take an in depth look at 2g to 3g migration, we examine the critical migration assurance issues and we will hear from our membership on the current STATE of the MIGRATION.
